ALARM: Another National Series team with new infections

By Pablo Picardo

The epidemiological situation in the country begins to wreak havoc on some teams in the 61st Cuban Baseball National Series when only seven games of the 75 that make up the calendar have been played in the qualifying stage.

Several campuses had already been affected during the so-called “Preseason” which influenced the preparation of teams such as lumberjacks from Las Tunas and the puppies from Holguín, who have not achieved great results so far.

According to sources, at the beginning of the week, a new team has been in such a situation despite the fact that they were still playing the matches that were normally scheduled.

After leaving the capital, the current national champions Alazanes de Granma found two affected people, a player and a coach, who are isolated from the rest of the squad and with a stable clinical evolution.

The squad is currently installed at the Colony hotel, located a little over two hours from the Cristóbal Labra stadium where the clashes between Granma residents and pirates take place.

The remaining players on the team are in good health, waiting to perform a PCR today in search of new possible infections.

It is worth remembering that the team from the East of the country was affected during the postseason of the 60 National Series which caused him significant casualties within his lineup.

Granma so far is located in ninth place in the standings with four wins and the same number of defeats after suffering a couple of setbacks against their rivals on duty.
