8 FOR THE STORY: Round marks of Cuban stars in MLB 2022

By Juan Paez

Although still Major League Baseball and the Players Association do not reach an agreement on how the next seasons will be played, with the passing of days the smell of baseball is stronger and throbbing. Among other reasons, the 2022 Major League Baseball campaign promises to be very interesting also because of the marks that the members of the Cuban army plan to achieve.

For example, to give you an idea, Aroldis Chapman you need 44 more save games in your account to total 350 for life. Such a mark, until now, has been achieved by only 13 pitchers in the history of the Majors. What the Cuban Missile will have to overcome is history, since never in his career has he saved more than 38 commitments in the same tournament.

Another important point is the 250 homers that José Abreu is pursuing, a number that he will reach when he hits the ball out of the park on another 22 occasions. Currently, he has 228, and unlike Chapman, Pito has hit at least 22 homers in all his seasons so far, with the exception of 2020 (which had a regular round of just 60 games). Once he reaches 250, he will be the fourth Cuban to reach that number and the third in Chicago White Sox history.

The 2022 Big Top campaign should start on March 31. May luck be with you and time tell when each of you will hit the next milestones.

Without further ado, enjoy…
