Sources: SF agrees with OF Conforto and LHP Rogers

The San Francisco Giants agreed with the outfielder michael comfort a two-year, $36 million deal, and left-handed reliever Taylor Rogers with a three-year, $33 million deal, sources confirmed to ESPN on Friday.

Conforto’s contract includes an opt-out after the 2023 season, sources told ESPN’s Buster Olney.

Conforto joins the Giants after missing the 2022 season following shoulder surgery in April. He had become a free agent last offseason after turning down an $18.4 million qualifying offer from the New York Mets.

The deal, reached between the Giants and agent Scott Boras, comes after another of Boras’s high-profile clients, Carlos Correa, will turn around to sign a 12-year, $315 million contract with the Mets. A previous 13-year, $350 million deal with the Giants fell apart earlier this week after Boras told the New York Post there was a “difference of opinion” regarding Correa’s physicals.

Meanwhile, Rogers will be reunited with his twin brother, the right-hander tylerin the Giants bullpen.

The 29-year-old Conforto played his first seven seasons in New York, where he hit .255 with 132 home runs, 396 RBIs and an .824 OPS. He made his first and only All-Star Game appearance in 2017. He had been injured while training in January before deciding to have surgery.

Rogers, 32, spent the entire 2022 season with the san diego padres and the Milwaukee Brewers, and went 4-8 with a 4.76 ERA. He spent the six seasons before this one with the Minnesota Twins and had a 3.42 ERA in 385 career appearances.

USA Today first reported on the Giants’ agreement with Conforto, while The Athletic portal was the one who initially reported that Rogers would arrive in the Bay.
