The 2021 season of Yuli gurriel it has been great. The Spaniard was the leader of the batters in the American League with an average of .319, being the first Cuban to reach such a milestone in the last 50 years.
On the night of this Sunday, November 7, the Golden Glove winners were announced in the Major League Baseball campaign. The Cuban reached the title among the first bases of the American League, ahead of Matt Olson (Oakland Athletics) and Jared Walsh (Los Angeles Angels).
It is remarkable that Gurriel achieved this title at the age of 37 and became the oldest player to win it in all of Major League history at first base. The merit is greater if we take into account that until his arrival at the Big Top (2016) he had never played that position.
